    • This is a “meet up” type of activity, no charge.
    • Needed equipment: ski poles are better than trekking poles, but don’t let pole-specificity get in the way of joining.  I wear my “second best running shoes,” not the best because it can be wet and muddy; but light hikers work, too. Plus the usual sun and tick repellents.

      • The Jackson Historical Society is holding its 21st annual White Mountain Art Sale. There are currently over 50 items from private collectors, primarily 19thcentury paintings.   • Community Event: CHILDREN’s CRAFT LET YOUR IMAGINATION TAKE FLIGHT – Owl Pastels
    10am• Tin Mountain ature Learning Center, Albany

    • Explore the beauty and amazing talents of owls while we create pastel drawings. Using Tin Mountain’s owl mounts and photographs as our guides, we’ll study the characteristics of owls and the differences between them. Participants will learn to make various poses using simple shapes and identify and blend colors and shades to match each chosen owl. Let your creative talents take flight! No drawing experience necessary. Open to children age 6-12. Deb Ayers is an artist and retired longtime art teacher of the Mt. Washington Valley.

    • Join us for a slow-paced walk that takes a closer look at the world around us and explores the Tin Mountain Conservation trails in Albany, NH. Outdoor highlights include an 1800s quarry, beaver pond and resident flora & fauna, while inside the Nature Learning Center you will find animal mounts and a gem & mineral collection. These leisurely investigations of the trails, and tour of the Learning Center are perfect for all ages; you are never too young or too old to have a new adventure

  • Community Event: LIBRARY FOCUS GROUP (Community Participants)
    • 5:50-8pm • Jackson Public Library
      • The Library is forming a Community Focus Group to chart a path for the Library’s next five years, and is asking community members to help craft a plan that will ensure the Library meets the needs of the community. We are looking for 5-6 volunteers.
      • The commitment would be to attend a meeting (about two hours ) near the start of the planning process.  The meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 6 from 5:30-8:00 p.m.  to be held at the Jackson Public Library. This meeting will be facilitated by an outside consultant.  A light meal will be provided.
      • If you are interested in learning more about possibly serving as a volunteer on the Community Focus Group, please contact Laurel Smith, laurel@jacksonlibrary.org
  • Community Event: CHAMBER MUSIC Class Fall Concert

    • Join Chris Nourse’s Monday night adult chamber music class for a concert of music from the middle ages to the Ragtime era, played by instruments in various combinations.
    • Audience will be seated on stage with the performers for an up-close-and-personal experience.
