Drop your young person off and pick them up at the trailhead for a moderately strenuous adventure up Peaked Mountain with us. Lunch will be on the trail; youth must wear appropriate footwear, and have water and a lunch in a comfortable backpack. Social distancing will be enforced. Masks will not be required while actively hiking, but will when appropriate during breaks. $20/members, $25 nonmembers. Scholarships available. Space is limited and registration is required. Registration required: call 603-447-6991. Highlights include the summit of Tin Mountain, a tin mine on the property, and historic homestead, and a mountain pond. Tin Mountain’s naturalist will explain the historic use of the property, help identify plant species, and point out animal signs. These hikes are a great way to explore the lesser trod trails of the White Mountains and avoid the crowds. Participants of all ages a welcome. 9:30am • Meet at the Tin Mountain Conservation Center, Bald Hill Road, Albany . Shuttle 25 minutes east to put-in site.
Join Tin Mountain for a canoe adventure on Kezar Pond and Stream in Fryeburg, Maine. We’ll stop at a secluded sand beach for lunch. During the day, we’ll search for wildlife such as Bald Eagles, Loons, and Heron and may see the brilliant red Cardinal Flower in bloom streamside. Staff will teach and offer paddling tips & techniques for those new to the sport. For all abilities and ages. Please bring sunscreen, a hearty lunch, water (preferably in a reusable bottle), snacks, binoculars and life jacket (especially for the children). Tin Mountain has a few small sized life jackets and if you have your own, please be sure to bring them. Please be sure to have 2 able-bodied paddlers in your canoe. Space is limited. Worship will be streamlined with scripture, prayer and live music by Alan Labrie (if he’s able to arrive while worship is in session): no congregational singing. When worship ends, participants are asked to leave the church with social distance between each group; we will immediately be preparing for the next zoom-based 10:30am worship service.
