Day 2 — Created Good
- Scripture: Genesis 1:31 (NRSV): God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was very good.
- Reflection: Creation is not an accident or a fluke. It is intentional. It is a blessing.
As people of faith, and as stewards of this place inhabited by all of God’s designs, we see the world not as disposable, but sacred and interdependent. Entangled particles respond to each other across great distances. And colloquially, science even tells us that every atom of our bodies was forged in stars. The ‘stuff’ of the universe binds and connects us.
Of course, entire ecological systems are affected by small changes. Even our brains include mirror neurons to build relationships. Today we extend gratitude for the way that we are connected to everything. - Practice: Go outside. Notice three beautiful or strange things you usually overlook.
