June 24 Daily Devotional

Tuesday, June 24

  • Scripture: Proverbs 24:30–34 – “I went past the field of the sluggard, past the vineyard of the man who lacks judgment; thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins.”
  • Reflection: Neglect can lead plants—and lives—to become overrun with weeds. Weeds choke out good growth. Gardeners remove unwanted, intrusive plants to draw out beauty and make the garden more productive.
Likewise, regular tending of our own inner gardens is essential to maintain our wellbeing and cultivate healthy growth.
Today is a reminder to create opportunities for self-care. Body-mind-spirit are all connected. When you tend one part of yourself, everything benefits.
What aspects of your life need more time and attention? What needs to be re-balanced so you’re grounded and centered? What needs more care? What needs less of your time and energy? What should you welcome and what might you let go?
  • Spiritual Practice Prompt: Choose one form of self-care today. Allow one aspect of this self-care to feed your spiritual self.

Song:

Weeds are flowers too, once you get to know them. — A. A. Milne
