Day 5 — Hope That Waits with Purpose
- Scripture: Psalm 27:14 – “Wait for YHWH; be strong, take heart! Yes—wait for YHWH!”
- Reflection: Waiting throughout Advent becomes active, not idle. It calls on the courage to continue trusting, resist despair, and choose love. It is a time of preparation. Even reading a devotional such as this one, and stretching those spiritual muscles through consistent practices, helps each of us to be ready for the growth that such seasons create within us (ideally).
- Practice: When frustration occurs, practice slow breathing. Inhale hope; exhale anxiety.

- “Hope is patience with the lamp lit.” — Tertullian
