Daily Devotional: April 28

SPRING

Monday, April 28

  • Scripture: Psalm 19:1 – “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
  • Reflection: Each sunrise and sunset offers a chance for us to witness God’s presence. As we’ve mentioned in other devotionals, nature is the original canvas of God’s revelation.
Whether we watch through the window,  step outside, or hike to a summit for a special view, let us be mindful of how nature itself reflects its Creator. Have you ever noticed that the sunset and sunrise are most colorful before or after the event itself? Take time to see all the colors and characteristics of the sky during this liminal time between night and day.
Even on days when we cannot see it, the sun is there. Even the moon reminds of this, reflecting the light of our nearest star into the dark night sky.
  • Spiritual Practice Prompt: Spend some time each day this week taking notice of the changing skies. Share an image if you capture a special scene.

Song:

There’s always a sunrise and always a sunset and it’s up to you to choose to be there for it. – Cheryl Strayed
