Day 17 — The Sacred Ordinary
- Scripture: Zechariah 4:10 — For who has despised the day of small things?
- Reflection: Most of life is comprised of small moments: brushing teeth, washing dishes, folding laundry, walking the dog. Gratitude sanctifies the ordinary.
Our faith tradition, along with mindfulness practices around the world, recognize simple acts and quotidian moments as sacramental—God in daily life. We are reminded to pay attention. - Practice: Choose one ordinary task today and do it slowly, gratefully, as a spiritual act.

To see a World in a grain of sand,
And a Heaven in a wild flower,
Hold Infinity in
the palm of your hand,
And Eternity in an hour.
