April 15 Daily Devotional for Holy Week

HOLY WEEK DEVOTIONALS

April 15 (Tuesday – Service)

  • Scripture: John 13:14-15 – Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
  • Reflection: Jesus demonstrated servant leadership by washing His disciples’ feet. As we enter deeper into Holy Week, consider how service to others reflects Christ’s love.
Service can take many forms, from a simple act of kindness to dedicated volunteer work. It is a powerful way to witness our faith and extend the love Jesus made evident.
The scale of your service isn’t the measure of its impact. The smallest act, as Mother Teresa said, can be done with great love. Focus on being kind, and noticing when you can interact meaningfully, intentionally, with others. Be curious. Linger to chat and check in with someone you might otherwise pass by through a transaction, such as a cashier. Ask how someone else is doing. Smile. Say thank you. Notice the people around you, and really make them feel seen.
  • Spiritual Practice Prompt: Find a way to be kind to someone today. Do it on purpose. Pick out someone you might otherwise fail to notice. Introduce yourself. Share your name. Ask the strangers’ name.
  • Song:

Not all of us can do great things, but we can do small things with great love. — Mother Teresa
