This week @ JCC – Wed, 8/29: Fitness tune-up with Laurie McAleer, Thurs, 8/30: Yoga with Anjali Rose, Sun, 9/2: Gazebo led by Sandi & Eileen & Denise and trad’l worship with favorite songs & scripture plus guest soloist Kevin O’Neill and start-up of church choir rehearsals for the fall. Plus community events – Sun, 8/26: Bach festival in No Conway, Mon, 8/27: covered bridge closings begins on weekdays, Tue, 8/28: farmer’s market, Wed, 8/29 – Wednesday at Wildcat, Thurs, 8/30: back to school, Sat, 9/1: Fall Book Sale at old library.

Note: Rev Gail Doktor will be on vacation through Sat, Sept 8. See below for coverage in case of pastoral care emergencies.
SUN, Aug 26

  • INTERFAITH WORSHIP @ GAZEBO
    8am • Gazebo. Come for poetry, literature, conversation and prayer.

  • Community Event: BACH FESTIVAL CONCERT
    4:30- 6:30 pm • First Church of Christ, UCC in No Conway, NH
    Price: $20 – $35. Second of two concerts presented by White Mountain Musical Arts, the 30th Annual Bach Festival presents instrumental and vocal music of the Baroque period featuring small groups, soloists and the Bach Festival Chorus and Orchestra performing the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. The performers include musicians from the greater New England region as well as local residents of the Conway/Fryeburg area.

MON, Aug 27

  • Community Update: COVERED BRIDGE CLOSING
    7-3:30pm Weekdays for 3 weeks, starting Aug 27. Repairs to covered bridge begins this week and continues for 3 weeks. Open to traffic on weekends. Questions?  Bill Boynton, Public Information Office, NH Dept of Transportation, 603-271-6495.

TUE, Aug 28

  • Community Event: FARMERS MARKET  
    3:30-6:30 pm • Thompson House Eatery (THE). Live music, fresh produce, ‘popup’ library presence.

WED, Aug 29

  • TUNE UP FITNESS with Laurie McAleer 
    9am • Parish House, Jackson Community Church. (Note: Laurie’s class will not occur next week on Wed, Sept 5 as she will be on the Star Island retreat, but will resume again on Wed, Sept 12)
  • Community Event: WEDNESDAYS at WILDCAT with Tin Mountain Conservation Center
    12 – 2pm. Wildcat Mountain Ski Area, Pinkham Notch. Focus: Thompson Falls. Naturalist-led program. Program topics change weekly and range from learning about the flora and fauna of the forest and fresh water ecosystems to those of the higher alpine environment, including wildflowers, mosses, waterfalls, frogs, and moose to the geology of the surrounding mountains and Presidential Range.

EMERGENCY PASTORAL CARE while Rev Gail on Vacation 8/22 – 9/8/18

Please note, the following deacons are available to support our community in case of an emergency: Tom Pizor, Wendy McVey and/or Eileen McDonald. They will be ‘on call’ while Rev Gail is on vacation. Their contact info follows:

Also, ministers from First Church, UCC in North Conway, NH will be available to provide emergency support in case of a pastoral care emergency such as a death or catastrophic medical situation. Please contact one of our deacons (Tom, Wendy or Eileen), who will make a referral to Rev Ruth Shaver or Gerry Tilton in case of such an emergency.

Please note that Rev Gail will return from London to Boston on Sat, Sep 8 and come north on Sun, Sept 9 for the 10:30am worship service. Until then, Rev Gail will have limited access to phone and email during her travels.
