  • ANNUAL PASSOVER SEDER hosted by Mt Washington Valley Chavurah

    Community passover meal. RSVPs were required. Rev Gail attends.

THURS, April 25

  • BLISS YOGA with Anjali Rose
    9am • First Floor, Parish House / Jackson Community Church. Beginning stretch, flow and align yoga; safe for new practitioners. Weather dependent; if schools are delayed or closed, the class will be cancelled.
  • Community Event: HEATHER PIERSON JAZZ TRIO
    7-8:30pm • Whitney Community Center
    $10/person and $20/family at the door
    The Heather Pierson Jazz Trio is: Heather Pierson (piano, vocals), Shawn Nadeau (bass) and Craig Bryan (drums). Based in New Hampshire’s Mount Washington Valley, Heather is a pianist, singer/songwriter, and performer known for her bell tone vocals and self-taught, equal parts New Orleans-Oscar-Brubeck jazz piano leanings.  The trio performs a rich variety of Heather’s originals, jazz and blues standards, and unique reworkings of familiar American music. 
  • Community Event: SPRING JAZZ WORKSHOPS (Mountain Top Music Program)
    7-8:30pm • Denmark ME Arts Center
    Get a jazz fix at Denmark (Maine) Arts Center with a spring Jazz History Workshop Series taught by Mike Sakash, Justin Ramos and Bruce Berquist. Sessions will focus on the role of specific instruments in jazz, the influences of classical music on jazz forms, and more. Sessions continue on 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23, and 5/30. Drop-in class fee is $15, or sign up for all six sessions for $75.

  • Community Event: BIRDING in BROWNFIELD BOG with Tin Mountain Conservation Center
    7-10am •  Meet at G&S Store in Brownfield
    Join birders of all levels on this weekly bird walk through the bog and view the rich diversity of bird life that makes it way north to rest or nest. Bring binoculars (or borrow ours), rubber boots, and a snack.
  • Community Event: NATIONAL DRUG TAKE BACK DAY & NARCAN TRAINING
    9am -1pm • Jackson Grammar School
    Come by for safe disposal of expired or unused medications in communities all across our nation. Jackson Police Department.
    Car trouble?  Out of gas?  The police will come by to pick up the medicine at your home if needed!  Just call 603-383-9292 and let them know where you are in Jackson. 
  • Community Event: NARCAN EDUCATION & TRAINING
    10am -11:30am • Jackson Grammar School
    NARCAN is a lifesaving drug that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.  The education portion takes minutes, the NARCAN is free and it could save a life!
  • Community Event: MARQUETRY with artist Craig Altobello
    1-3pm • Tin Mountain Conservation Center
    Marquetry is the art of assembling thin slices of wood to form an image. Current artist on display, Craig Altobello, will walk us through the process of turning logs into works of art from cutting his own veneers to the beeswax finish.

    1-3pm • Hike on local trail to celebrate the walk to Emmaus. Family friendly. Meet at church parking lot, come in hiking boots and layers, bring water for yourself and healthy snack to share. Weather dependent.
  • Community Event: FUNERGY FESTIVAL
    10am- 2pm • Schouler Park, North Conway
    Join Tin Mountain and many other organizations at the 9th Annual Earth Day Funergy Festival. Participate in educational and energy related activities, peruse environmentally friendly goods and services, and learn about sustainability initiatives in the Mount Washington Valley.
