    • Join us for a slow-paced walk that takes a closer look at the world around us and explores the Tin Mountain Conservation trails in Albany, NH. Outdoor highlights include an 1800s quarry, beaver pond and resident flora & fauna, while inside the Nature Learning Center you will find animal mounts and a gem & mineral collection. These leisurely investigations of the trails, and tour of the Learning Center are perfect for all ages; you are never too young or too old to have a new adventure.

    • Marianne Borowski is back!  One of our favorite local cyclists and the “wheels” behind the establishment of the Cross NH Adventure Trail (xNHAT), will be at the library to discuss this trail and other NH Rail Trails.  These trails are a great way for all ages and abilities to get outside for adventure, exercise, touring and looking for butterflies, birds, flowers, geocaches and scenic views.
    • If you are interested in an accompanying read Bartlett library has copies of Bicycling with Butterflies:  My 10,201-mile journey following the monarch migration by Sara Dykman available at the library.

    • Since 1972, The Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival has been devoted to presenting and promoting high-quality chamber music performances in Western Maine. In the summer of 2021, they recorded their first virtual concerts at the Majestic and fell in love with the acoustics of our hall. After two successful concerts in the 2022 season, the group returns in 2023.
    • Includes Béla Bartók’s Romanian Folk Dances for Cello and Piano; Serenade for Flute, Violin and Viola in D Major by Ludwig van Beethoven; and the Piano Quintet in F Minor by César Franck.

    • Learn more about the history of one of Jackson’s oldest houses, part of Dundee’s thriving farming community in the 1800s. The Ham House is situated on land slated to become part of the Dundee Community Forest and includes the route of the “Old Road” from Jackson. The program will include a walk at the height of foliage along that route, which heads west over rough terrain towards Tin Mountain.

    Thursdays 10am-12pm in July & August
    • Join Tin Mountain Conservation Center for weekly hikes at the Jackson Field Station property. Highlights include the summit of Tin Mountain, a tin mine on the property, and historic homestead, and a mountain pond. Tin Mountain’s naturalist will explain the historic use of the property, help identify plant species, and point out animal signs. These hikes are a great way to explore the lesser trod trails of the White Mountains and avoid the crowds. Participants of all ages welcome.

      The Premier Neil Diamond Tribute Band, Cherry Cherry, will perform at the iconic Majestic Theatre on Thursday, August 18th.  Diamond’s music is timeless, ageless and beloved.  Thirty-eight of Diamond’s songs have reached the top 10 on the Adult Contemporary charts including one of the most popular sing-alongs of all time, Sweet Caroline, now the unofficial theme song of Red Sox Nation.     The use of the outdoors as a therapeutic catalyst for change is as old as time itself. In the modern era, it has been referred to as wilderness therapy, outdoor therapy, adventure therapy, and ecotherapy, and has been growing all over the country and the world for the last 25 years.  This two-hour experience will teach participants ways to use the outdoors to accelerate the therapeutic benefit – whether a multi-day solo adventure or a twenty-minute walk in the woods  – as well as a brief history of the field. The talk and walk will be facilitated by Jackson local Will White, and will take place in the Dundee Community Forest project area in Jackson.
