This week @ JCC: Mon-Fri: Star Island retreat, Wed: Fitness tune-up with Laurie McAleer, Thurs: Yoga with Anjali Rose, Sun: Gazebo led by Sandi & Eileen & Denise and trad’l worship with favorite songs & scripture with guest soloist Kevin O’Neill and start-up of church choir practice. Plus community events: Mon – covered bridge closing on weekdays, Tue – farmer’s market.
Note: Rev Gail Doktor will be on vacation through Sat, Sept 8. See below for coverage in case of pastoral care emergencies.

Note: Rev Gail Doktor will be out of town Wed, Aug 22 – Sun, Sept 9, helping her daughter move to Manhattan and then taking trip overseas. We will send out a separate email with instructions for seeking pastoral care in an emergency: deacons and local minister will be on call to support the community.

3:30-6:30 pm • Thompson House Eatery (THE). Live music, fresh produce, ‘popup’ library presence. - DAY RESOURCE CENTER TEAM
6:30pm • Nativity Lutheran Offices. Meeting of startup team to plan next steps in opening of Day Resource Center to serve homeless and housing insecure population of teens, families and adults. Rev Gail and church members are participating in this project. We will update the community about potential volunteer opportunities.

10am • Tri-County Cap Offices
Albany, NH. County, town & school liaisons plus reps from nonprofit agencies address issues re homelessness and housing insecurity. Clergy also involved.

9am • Parish Hall, Jackson Community Church. Join instructor Anjali Rose for a gentle, introductory yoga class. Wear stretchy fitness clothing, bring a matt and a cushion/blanket if you have them. $10/class for 6 weeks. Scholarships available. Runs for 6 weeks. - YOGA & MEDITATION with Charlotte Doucette

VALLEY PRIDE DAY Litter Pick Up
* 8:30-10am • Whitney Community Center (other registration sites in different valley communities, see link below)
* 10am-Noon • Pick up litter along local roads; sites to be assigned during registration
* Noon-2pm • Celebrate @ Hampton Inn, No Conway
JCC friends and members can volunteer along with JCC’s team leader Fred Tompkins to help clean local roads by registering (same day registration) at the Whitney Community Center (other communities have different registration locations) to get gloves and bags and cleanup assignments, and then go out to pick up trash until noon.
