The family of Armand ‘Woody’ Wood asks that we share this news: “Perhaps you can share with the congregation that Woody passed away on Monday, November 13. He has been having a hard time since mom died and his health has steadily declined.” The family anticipates organizing a memorial in the spring.
One member of the family shares that they are “so very sad for this loss, but … know Woody is now pain free and he and mom are together again.” She goes on to say, “Which lightens my heart.”
As recently as October, Woody was able to attend the Fryeburg Fair with other Mineral Springs residents, staff members, and volunteers. Meg Phillips and Rev Gail Doktor were with Woody and other Mineral Springs folks, and helped wheel him around in his chair for this outing. While there, he fulfilled a few of his remaining ‘bucket list’ items such as seeing an oxen-pull and munching some of his and Dot’s favorite fried fair food!
Woody was a familiar presence in Jackson for a long time, and a faithful member of the Jackson Community Church. We pause to remember his life and his contributions to this community.
The church office will share more details when they are available. As ever, we extend appreciation for the compassion of the staff at Mineral Springs, who were his constant caregivers.
