Reflections on ‘hevel’ – theme from Eccesiastes

Don’t ever save anything for a special occasion. Being alive is the special occasion.– Toby Mac

To live in this world, you must be able to do three things: to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go. — Mary Oliver

All thoughts, all passions, all delights Whatever stirs this mortal frame All are but ministers of Love And feed His sacred flame. — Samuel Taylor Coleridge

The moment of surrender is not when life is over, it’s when it begins. – Marianne Williamson

He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.  – Epictetus

GOVERNANCE & MINISTRY by Dan Hotchkiss: Book Discussion: Wed, July 26 @ 6:30pm

WEDNESDAY, July 26 @ 6:30pm.

We are discussing Chapter 7 about Church Scale (Size).

Contact church for access to book as needed: jcchurch@jacksoncommunitychurch.org. Hard copy available to borrow inside front entrance on bookshelf (please sign it out).

Reminder that  this conversation is open to anyone who would be interested or willing to partiicpate in exploration of the governance model for our church, to formalize what already works and adapt what may need some adjusting. You’re welcome to join our discussion of Governance and Ministry which is the book we’re using to move along in this process.

We have been operating with suspended bylaws for several years. The goal is to identify what’s working in our simplied governance structure, and explore how to improve some areas. Afterward, we can then formalize our bylaws to reflect what we have adopted and tested.
