March Daily Devotionals begin with Calm and Centering
Scripture: Galatians 5:1 — For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Reflection: Consider that your calm and centeredness is a form of liberation. Ponder that you receive freedom from your neutral state of mind, which accepts all input, watches it come and go, and remains unaffected by the feelings and sensory experiences that influence your body and mind.
As one yoga instructor writes, “The Neutral Mind … also known as the Meditative Mind or the Intuitive Mind, the Neutral Mind evaluates the input of your Negative and Positive Minds. The Neutral Mind opens the gate to that deep remembrance of the self and soul. Important qualities of the Neutral Mind are service, compassion, steadiness, trust, loyalty, balance, and wisdom. The Neutral Mind exemplifies the ability to offer counsel and support to others. If the Neutral Mind is weak, decision-making becomes difficult. It may not be easy to know how to integrate life experiences and find meaning in them. Keep your connection to your neutral, intuitive self and be guided by the light of the soul.”
Spiritual Prompt: Set aside some time for stillness and ideally, prayer or meditation.

Posture: Sit in easy pose with the spine straight. Remove all tension from every part of the body. Sit straight by achieving a balance.
Eyes: Close the eyes. Imagine seeing yourself sitting peacefully and full of radiance. Then gradually let your energy collect like a flow at the Brow Point.
Mudra: Put both hands in the lap with the palms facing up. Rest the right hand in the left. The thumb tips may touch or not.
Breath: Let the breath regulate itself into a meditative slow, almost suspended manner.
Mental Focus & Mantra: Wha-hay Gu-roo. Concentrate without effort at the Brow Point and mentally vibrate in a simple monotone, as if chopping the sound, projecting each syllable distinctly: Wha-hay Gu-roo. Call on the higher self and keep going steadily through all barriers. Let go and let God.
