July 31 Daily Devotional

Thursday, July 31

  • Scripture: Isaiah 40:29-31 – “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”
  • Reflection: As we wrap up the month of July, this promise offers reassurance that Holy Love is with us through every experience, whether blissful or challenging. This text acknowledges that the conditions of our lives ebb and flow, and though tough times occur, hopeful ones also come about. Through all aspects of life, God’s presence gives us strength and sustains us.
Hope, cultivated through spiritual practices and self-care, allows us to renew our energy and face each day with resilience. Building up connection to our spiritual lives, connecting with God, and growing in trust, lifts us above our struggles.
We don’t have to be perfect in our faith to receive God’s support. Rather simply being open to the connection with what is sacred in the world, bigger than ourselves, gives us that awareness and connection that elevates us.
  • Spiritual Practice Prompt: Find one word in the scripture for today, and focus on it as a mantra that helps build some aspect of your resilience, wellbeing, and hope.
