TRUSTING GOD’s PLAN
Daily Devotional
Daily Devotional
Cultivate trust for God’s plans each day this week.
January 14: Commit
- Scripture Psalm 37:5 — Commit your way to the Lord; trust in God, and God will act.
- Reflection: Making a commitment includes the intention to act. Have you actually made a vow or promise to follow in God’s Way? What is the difference between thinking about it and doing something about it?
At its ideal, commitment refers to the level of dedication, loyalty, and attachment that individuals have towards a particular idea, organization, or relationship. The key attributes of commitment include 1) Being consistent: People are more likely to follow through on a commitment than if they hadn’t made one. 2) Planning and coordinating: Commitment can help people make plans and coordinate actions with others. 3) Cooperating: Commitment can make people more willing to contribute to joint actions. - Spiritual Discipline: Identify one way you can actively commit your plans to God this week. Make this promise either in a journal entry, an intention you set with prayer and meditation, or by sharing your plan with a friend or colleague to add another layer of accountability.
What happens when you dedicate plans to God? How does the way you think about your plans change? How are those plans now holy? How do they reflect Godself? How do they change you?

It was character that got us out of bed, commitment that moved us into action, and discipline that enabled us to follow through. — Zig Ziglar
