Day 7 — A Peace the World Cannot Give

  • Scripture: John 14:27 – “Peace is my farewell to you; my peace is my gift to you. I don’t give it to you as the world gives peace.”
  • Reflection: Christ’s peace is not quietism but wholeness—shalom that heals entire systems and souls. Peace, salaam, shalom.
It supports knitting together different aspects of peace: Inner being and outer reality, individual integration and relational wellbeing, communal connection and societal integrity. Christ’s peace is embodied involves resistance, involves advocacy, involves connection, involves risk, involves commitment, involves movement, involves care.
  • Practice: Set a boundary today that protects your well-being. Peace requires clarity.
  • Song: “Let It Be” by The Beatles: https://youtu.be/CGj85pVzRJs?si=MJ4DA-e9HJEEN39a
  •  “Peace is not merely a distant goal… it is a means by which we arrive at that goal.” — Martin Luther King Jr.
