Cultivate love each day this week.
December 25: Perfect Love
- Scripture: 1 John 4:18 – There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear; for fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not reached perfection in love.
- Meditation: God’s love liberates us from fear. Alan Watts says: “By replacing fear of the unknown with curiosity we open ourselves up to an infinite stream of possibility. We can let fear rule our lives or we can become childlike with curiosity, pushing our boundaries, leaping out of our comfort zones, and accepting what life puts before us.”
- Action: Acknowledge a fear that you can surrender today. Pray, asking Godself to fill you with sufficient self-esteem, self-compassion, equilibrium, courage, and curiosity to overcome that fear. Ask questions of your fear. Get to know it, and let it teach you. As you name it and know it, you relinquish its hold over you.
