August 17 Daily Devotional

Sunday, August 17

  • Scripture: John 16:24“Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.”
  • Reflection: Explore playfulness in your relationship with God. Pray and ask for what you need and want. Engage today with the openness of a child, sharing your desires and dreams with God. Enjoy that honesty in communication.
Remember that the outcome of prayer may take time. Or the results may take a shape you didn’t expect. This doesn’t mean your prayer hasn’t been answered, only that the response was different than you might want Yet the exercise of asking for what we both need and want helps to build trust.
  • Spiritual Practice Prompt: During your prayer time, openly share your heart’s desires with God.
