    Produced in partnership with the New Hampshire Humanities, New Hampshire PBS presents an online screening and discussion of the new PBS documentary. This moving two-part series traces the 400-year-old story of the Black church in America, all the way down to its bedrock role as the site of African American survival and grace, organizing and resilience, thriving and testifying, autonomy and freedom, solidarity and speaking truth to power. Join us after the 30 minute screening for a discussion with New Hampshire Humanities Public Programs Director Dr. Tricia Peone, in conversation with Dr. Vaughn Booker, Assistant Professor of Religion and African and African American Studies at Dartmouth College.

    The Friends of the Whitney welcome back yoga instructor, Anjali Rose to host virtual yoga to the community for the next six weeks. This yoga class is free to Jackson community residents and is designed for all levels to participate.     Have you ever wondered what animals move through your yard when you’re not looking?  Or found tracks and wondered who made them? Dr. Rick Van de Poll will cover the basics of identifying and understanding approximately 30 common mammals in our region. Basic terminology of tracking and field identification of sign will be discussed.     9am (full) & 11:30am • Call 447-6991 or click here to register online (9am session currently full; reservations required).Dr. Rick Van de Poll will help participants  head out into the fields and woods behind Tin Mountain Conservation Center and practice field identification of mammal sign. Special emphasis will be given to habitat and behavior, and back-tracking exercises will clarify habits and haunts of the animals we encounter. A wrap-up session at the end will reinforce basic concepts and discuss conservation measures for the species. Dress for the weather, bring a lunch.
