Fri, June 26

  • FITNESS with Laurie McAleer
    9:30am • JCC Parish Hall

    • Free
    • Open to community.
    • Space is limited so arrive early.
    • Gentle chair-based fitness and stretching with additional use of balls, hand weights, bands, and hiking poles.
    • Meets Tuesdays and Fridays at 9:30am.
  • Community Event: MT WASHINGTON VALLEY BARN DANCE
    5:30-6:30 pm / 7-9:30 pm MWV Barn Dance • Whitney Community Center

    • Enjoy an evening of lively New England social dancing featuring contras, squares, couples’ dances, and the Virginia reel, all set to traditional live dance tunes.
    • The evening starts from 5:30-6:30 pm with kid- and beginner-friendly dances and after a social break a MWV Barn Dance from 7-9:30 pm. No experience is necessary as all dances will be taught.
    • Come with friends or solo, and musicians are welcome to sit in with the band. You are welcome to bring snacks to share during the social break. The dances are coordinated and performed by dance caller Jennifer McHone Villabos and nationally renowned and local dance musicians and run Friday, June 26th, July 17th, and July 31st at the Whitney Community Center.
    • No one will be denied access, but donations ranging from $5-$20 cover the cost of the musicians and caller.
    • Musicians are welcome to sit in with the band! There will be practices to learn the music on Friday, June 12th, June 19th, July 10th, July 24th, and August 21st from 7-8:30 in the pavilion behind the Whitney Community Center. For more details contact Jennifer HcHone Villabos at 603-662-6989.

  • White Mountain PRIDE FESTIVAL
    10am-4pm • North Conway (Grounds next to Community Center)

    JCC is once again hosting a lemonade booth on Sat, June 27th at the White Mountains Pride festival! JCC is a sponsor for this valley-wide event.
  • Claire Mallette  is coordinating the JCC Pride Festival team. (Rev Gail is out of state for this weekend, so we need EXTRA hands and energy!). RSVP to Claire.
    • Please RSVP and let Claire know if you will volunteer at the JCC lemonade booth again this year. Also indicate whether you can be available all day, all morning, all afternoon, or for a shorter two-hour shift as outlined below. 
    • Also: Nativity Lutheran, Bartlett Congregational, and First Church in North Conway will be present! We set up in conjunction with Nativity Lutheran Church under two tents with shared display of rainbow lemonade and juice drinks.
    • Booth time slots:  8-10am: Set up / 10am-Noon / Noon -2pm / 2-4pm / 4-4:30pm: Breakdown / All Day (9:30am-4:30pm) / All Morning (8-Noon) / Afternoon (Noon-4:30pm)
