Day 6 — Hope Rooted in Community
- Scripture: Romans 15:13 – “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in your faith, until you overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
- Reflection: Hope grows in shared life. It is hard to despair when someone else holds the candle beside you.
Notice that when we hold communal prayers, we often ask people to share concerns and celebrations aloud. This naming our prayers out loud then distributes support for each other among our relationships. Although God promises the Spirit will always be with us, so we are never alone, humans respond to connections in which we share experiences and emotions together. These common bonds bolster our capacity for resilience. - Practice: Reach out to someone you haven’t connected with in a while. Offer a blessing or word of hope.
