Day 10 — The Season Changes
- Scripture: Ecclesiastes 3:1 — For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven.
- Reflection: November carries endings, harvests, and preparation. Gratitude honors cycles—we don’t cling to eternal summer or ephemeral autumn. We embrace the coming season and the blessings it may bring, along with the challenges it presents.
Our spiritual selves recognize holiness within periods of change, loss, and renewal. Each time has its own purpose … the dormancy of approaching winter offers respite and rest for the earth and its wildlife. Much goodness arises from each aspect of natural cycles, for the world and for its inhabitants, including us.
And so, with each season, we let go of certain expectations and experiences, and orient ourselves to engage and appreciate the new ones that are coming. So each transition involves loss and reclamation. - Practice: Name one aspect of your life that is ending with this season, at least until next year, and give thanks for what it has offered.
