Sept 13 Daily Devotional

Saturday:Moving Through the World / Play & Recreation

September 13

  • Scripture: Exodus 31:13 ‘You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the Lord, who makes you holy.”
  • Reflection: The scriptures are filled with reminders to take a break. Catch our breath. Relax. Allow one day of the week to become a Sabbath and a promise to undertake self-care. Be aware and connected to ourselves, our loved ones, and our God.
Rest and play are essential for our wellbeing. In this activity, we reflect the holy desire to simply be present to everything all around us. Drink it in. Absorb it. Immerse ourselves within it.
Leisure renews our spirits. It refreshes our sense of purpose and capacity for engagement.
  • Spiritual Practice: Spend the day playing. Get outdoors. Play a sport. Engage in a hobby that brings you joy.

Song:

You just have to take a deep breath, relax and let the game come to you. — A. J. Green
