DAILY DEVOTIONALS for JULY
Friday, July 18
- Scripture: Romans 8:6 – “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.”
- Reflection: Inarguably, there is a connection between body, mind, and spirit. Each influences the other aspects of our beings.
Focusing our thoughts on the Spirit leads us to a life marked by peace and vitality. Our mental state significantly influences our overall well-being. How do you build a resilient consciousness?
Perhaps you limit intake of negative news and stimuli. Perhaps you choose relationships that build wellbeing. Perhaps you balance self-care practices including spiritual activities, exercise, sleep, nutrition, creativity and play, as well as acts of service, alongside your commitments to work and vocation. What helps feed your mental health and psychological wellbeing? - Spiritual Practice Prompt: Spend a few moments today consciously redirecting your thoughts away from negative influences and option to focus on positives. List things for which you are grateful, or notice things that made you calm and happy today. Reframe your mind toward deep and soulful truths that reinforce awareness of and appreciation for the goodness around you.
