May 29 Spring Devotional

Thursday, May 29

  • Scripture: Luke 12:27 – “Consider how the wildflowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.”
  • Reflection: Wildflowers bloom effortlessly. They remind us that beauty does not always require effort; sometimes, it simply exists. Not everything requires our intervention, or our control, management, and planning. Our worry and anxiety don’t always produce results: some aspects of life occur regardless of our energy output.
Slow down. What in your life does NOT demand something from you? Allow yourself to appreciate the simple joys around you today.
  • Spiritual Practice Prompt: Pause someplace beautiful today. Pay attention. Breathe it in. What does it feel like when the world doesn’t ask or require anything from you, but offers something you need?

Song:

To see a world in a grain of sand and a heaven in a wildflower. – William Blake

Love is like wildflowers; it’s often found in the most unlikely places. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
