TRUSTING GOD’s PLAN
Daily Devotional
Cultivate trust for God’s plans each day this week.

January 12: God’s Plans for You

  • Scripture  Jeremiah 29:11 For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.
  • Meditation: God intends goodness for us. When life’s challenges occurs, when suffering comes, know that this isn’t a test or trial set for you, as if God’s love and mercy must be earned or achieved. Instead, in the midst of trial and tribulation, seek evidence of God’s presence in anything that helps to sustain or comfort you. God doesn’t promise that life will be experienced without hardship, but Christ’s ministry and life are the promise that God walks into the hardship with us, and remains our companion and strength throughout such times.
Trust that God intends good for you, and God will provide the resources and relationships you need to survive, overcome, and thrive.
  • Prompt: Focus on when you have experienced goodness in your life. Say a prayer naming at least three gratitudes for how you have known God’s presence.
Consider adding a gratitude practice, naming  three things every day, and discover if this way of framing your days helps to shine a light on the blessings in your life. Such moments are fingerprints of God’s presence.

SONGS:

You need to find what is genuinely yours to offer the world before you can make it a better place. Discovering your unique gift to bring to your community is your greatest opportunity and challenge. The offering of that gift—your true self—is the most you can do to love and serve the world. And it is all the world needs. —Bill Plotkin, Soulcraft
