Cultivate joy each day this week.
December 20: Lasting Joy
- Scripture: John 15:11 –– I have said these things to you so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.
- Meditation: We are designed as children of God to experience joy and to reflect delight back to God and to participate with joy in God’s creation. This is a daily habit we can cultivate.
What small, daily experiences do you notice, that you appreciate? What daily moments allow you to experience gratitude and joy? - Spiritual Practice: Give thanks for three things today, that you notice or experience during the day, that point toward joy.

Gratitude begins in our hearts and then dovetails into behavior. It almost always makes you willing to be of service, which is where the joy resides. It means that you are willing to stop being such a jerk. When you are aware of all that has been given to you, in your lifetime and the past few days, it is hard not to be humbled, and pleased to give back. — Anne Lamott
