MON, Sept 2 – Labor Day

  • STAR ISLAND RETREAT
    8:15am • Participants leave Mt Washington Valley to go to ferry in Portsmouth, NH for the week’s retreat. Rev Gail attends retreat. If you need Rev Gail for an emergency while she’s on Star Island (Mon-Fri this week), and cannot reach me by cell or email (phone signals and internet access are limited), you may send a message through the front desk at Star Island: (603) 601-0832. The office is staffed daily. You will need to tell Rev Gail is with the Midweek 1 Session (led by Mary Edes) so they can pass along a message. This should only be used for emergencies.
  • Community Event: CHILDRENS FUN RUN
    8:15am – Registration / 9am – Event Start  • Storyland, Glen, NH
    Kids 13 and under race through Story Land in Glen, NH for Believe in Books Literacy Foundation’s Kids Fun Run presented by Memorial Hospital and Story Land. All registrants will receive an event t-shirt, a race medal, and a free pass! Kids in school districts SAU 9, 13, 20, 3 & MSAD 72 have registration fee covered by Memorial Hospital, so they can race for free!  When registering, parents can enter the code: MHSCHOLAR to receive the scholarship. All other participants pay $10 donation to register!  All net proceeds from this event will go towards BIBLF’s Bookbag program. Register online.
  • Community Service: WAY STATION SHIFTS
    9am • Way Station, 15 Grove St, No Conway
    Volunteers from JCC work “adult” shift at Way Station.
  • Community Event: MOUNTAIN TOP MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP BENEFIT CONCERT
    6pm – Buffet Dinner / 7pm – Concert • Wildcat Tavern
    Enjoy an evening of music, food and merriment with proceeds benefiting the Scholarship Fund of Mountain Top Music Center.  Musician friends who will entertain include Jonathan Sarty, Don Walden, Ray Ryan and Craig Bryan. As in the past, students of Mountain Top Music will open for the Sarty Band. This year, adult vocal students Dave Mason and Bob Carper from the Singers Workshop,  perform. Reservations not required. TUE, Sept 3

  • Multi-Church Event: INSPIRED – WOMEN’S BIBLE STUDY
    6:30pm • North Conway Community Center
    Come with your copy of the Inspired book and your own study Bible if you have one (we will bring extra Bibles for reference). Ministers Gail Doktor, Sue Davidson and Ruth Shaver  facilitate these weekly gatherings.

WED, Sept 4

    Resumes next week. Instructor is on Star Island retreat.
  • Community Event: FLOCKS of FALL – WARBLER TALK
    7pm • Whitney Community CenterAt
    Lifelong birder Will Broussard prepares us for fall migration with tips for identifying common and not-so-common warblers headed south for winter. The evening program will be followed with weekly bird walks at 8am every Thursday in September leaving from Valley Cross Road in Jackson, NH.

    Beginning stretch, flow and align yoga; safe for new practitioners. Fee for this program.

  • Community Event: FALL WARBLER BIRD WALK
    8-10am • Meet at Jackson XC Ski Touring parking lot on Valley Cross Road, Jackson.
    All birders welcome. Bring your binoculars or borrow ours.

FRI, Sept 6

  • STAR ISLAND RETREAT ENDS
    Participants return to Mt Washington Valley.
  • Community Event: DOMINIQUE DODGE & TRITON in CONCERT
    7pm • Whitney Community Center
    An evening of music and song from Scotland, Cape Breton, Brittany, France, and Sweden. Dominique Dodge & Triton (Jeremiah McLane, Tim Cummings, Alex Kehler) perform. Adults: $20, Kids: Free (cash or check). RSVPs to dominiquehtherharper@hotmail.com appreciated, but not required.

SUN, Sept 8
